What exactly gets removed?

The title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer fields, plus the XMP metadata packet that many readers use in preference to those fields.

Why is removing only the visible fields not enough?

Most PDFs store the same information twice: once in the Info dictionary and again in an XMP packet. Clearing one leaves the other readable, so this tool removes both.

Does this remove text hidden inside the pages?

No. It clears document-level metadata only. Content on the pages themselves, including anything faintly printed or covered by a shape, is untouched.

Will the document still open normally?

Yes. Metadata is optional in the PDF format, so a file without it opens exactly as before in every reader.

Can I check what a PDF is revealing first?

Yes - upload it and the tool lists every field it found before you remove anything.
